Dura Ace is the better bang for the buck but if they where the same price then I would good with Sram, although some still might argue the Dura Ace is better. Dura Ace is stiffer, both run almost the same weight, not sure about which one shifts better. But if you are getting the BB to then the Sram is better, even the one without ceramic bearings.

Wow, that's some hellacious torque. Does a grizzly bear ride that bike?
Or did it hit something...?

He popped the chain into the small ring while mashing hard, which took the big ring with it.
See?

Dude was grinding up a steep and decided he was grinding a little too much.
He popped the chain into the small ring while mashing hard, which took the big ring with it.

No question, Dura-Ace. I've heard nothing but great great things on 7800 from the people who use it, and it's beautiful. The '09, though, is a work of high craft to me. Haven't heard performance pre-reports, but I really want one. I hope they don't feel the need to tweak every year.

Front dérailleur has to go down and in on a downshift (Bigger ring to smaller ring.) The forces being applied to the chain want to keep it attached to the chainring it is on. If you let up on the pressure, the chain will have a much easier time disengaging the teeth and moving about.

look at the number of professional riders that ride Sram, and do not use the sram red crankset. That will tell you something.
