Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Several questions on the carbon frame/bike groupbuy

I've working on a full carbon frame/complete bike groupbuy for a while and am about to finish the demo bike.
now I have several questions for those who are interested.
1. frame color, matte black or glossy black or both for option?

2. easton fork or unbranded fork?
ec90 slx's are said to be flexy. ec90 sl's are heavy. the unbranded fork is 330-340g and stiff and strong and much cheaper...

3. sub 200g carbon handlebar, classic bend or ergo bend or both for option?

and here is a 3D graphics of the frame in size 57cm.
I know some of you might prefer wishbone seatstays but I think this one looks more classic..
there will be 5 sizes available. weight ranges from 860g-950g.
the frames will be made of full Mitsubishi T800 carbon fiber.

there are still a few details to be finalized, so please be patient.
If you have any questions, please feel free to post them or PM me.

thanks
Patrick

Glossy, unbranded, and an option for non-carbon bars if possible. I'm just not a fan of carbon handlebars.

Does the frame need to be painted? Is clear coat over the carbon an option?

it will be coated with lacqure...just like all the other carbon frames in the market.
but if you want to paint it yourself, I can certainly offer you an uncoated frame.

This may be premature, but is there an estimate on the complete price?

Will this support BB30? also the design is very simple. I like it. And what about the drop outs? one piece?

I think this should be in a matte finish. Very nice to see you doing this. I hope it goes well.

no it uses a standard English BB.
BB30 might be a possible option for the future.

I did consider integrated carbon drop outs, but it will cost me(us) another fortune to have a new mold made for it...so we're using aluminum ones for now..

yep there will be 2-3 levels of groupset components, Microshift Arsis+Sram Rival, Sram Force and Sram Red.
and possibly Campy 11sp series, but I dont have any good (price wise) source of those so far.

the price for the frameset (frame/fork(unbranded)/headset/seat post/seat clamp(HOPE)/cable guide/adjuster barrels) is around 750-800, probably even cheaper..

and what I have in mind for a complete bike build list is like this:
frameset(as above)
Sram groupset
Easton EA90 Aero wheelset
Mechelin Pro3Race/Krylion tires
Fizik/Prologo saddle

what do you guys think?

You're not talking complete bike there I assume. One could hope but the math isn't right...unless you can get some wicked super pricing.

What is the deal with the Microshift Arsis+Rival? Really what parts are Microshift? I have been interested in a Rival bike but don't know a darn think about Microshift other than they are working with Nashbar to put out a low end component group.

Either on the color
Unbranded fork
Option on the bars...I use ergo. Will they be a "wing" style?

1. frame color, matte black or glossy black or both for option?

Gloss

2. easton fork or unbranded fork?

Unbranded

3. sub 200g carbon handlebar, classic bend or ergo bend or both for option?

Classic with a smooth transition to the hoods or a ergo without wacked out drops. Either way I prefer aluminum.

Microshift is a taiwan company who makes shifting components for road bike, MTB and city bikes.
Arsis is their top line groupset, but it only has brifters, rear der. and front der.
the groupset is relabeled by a lot other brands, whose names i'm not going to mention here...
for more info, https://www.microshift.biz/

sorry I dont have wing style handlebars..

matte, unbranded, classic bend. (i'd prefer AL bars unless carbon in equal or cheaper price)

3yr warranty on frame/fork
2yr on wheels
1yr on other components.

replacement with free shipping if any defects. (but the defect prodcut will have to be shipped back to me at your own cost)

Glossy, unbranded.

What's the projected cost on the frame/fork?
