Bontrager Saddle
I've been riding my Trek 1500 for a couple years now and am interested in purchasing a new saddle.
The saddle that I use at the moment, is the one in which it came with. The Bontrager Select saddle. It's a basic saddle that offers lots of cushioning. I like it, but I think there's a common problem with this saddle and men.
The nose of the saddle is very bulky and causes pressure on my "cash & prizes."
By switching to the Bontrager Inform R, can I still retain my comfort without the pressure on my "Apples & Banana"?
I should also add that I am not a racer. I ride nearly daily, so want something that offers a tad more comfort than your bare bones saddle.
I'm not looking to break the bank here, so if anyone has another recommendation, I would appreciate it. Thanks.

I haven't tried the Inform series yet but I would suggest looking at Koobi saddles as an alternative. I ride both the Koobi Enduro and the Bontrager Race X Lite on different bikes. "My boys" are very comfortable with both.

I just picked up a Bontrager Inform R saddle (143) today & will be mounting it tonight to head out for a quick 20 miles or so. Not that 20 miles is long enough to make an informed decision, but I'm doing 65 miles on saturday. Hopefully this seat will be better then my stock bontrager race lux.
I'll report back on sunday & give my opinion.

I swapped out my Bonty select saddle on my 1500 within a 1000 miles for an Arione, haven't looked back.

I have an Inform R on my MTB. I'm probably going to get another for an older road bike that I just acquired. I think it's pretty comfortable.

Well my 1st impression is that the seat felt pretty good last night (20 miles) but like I said before, even my bontrager race lux was fine up to about 30 miles or so.
I also have to say that my topeak tail bag does NOT fit the saddle rails on the inform. This upset me because now I have it rigged with black zip ties to keep my bag attached. It looks like total crap, but I need my bag for tools/keys.

I feel you on the bag. I don't want to carry everything in my pockets.
I carry the following in my jersey pockets and saddle bag:
Blackberry
Leatherman
Tire Spoons
Tube
Multi Tool
Money
Gels
Hamburger Meat
Taco Shells
Keys

I also had a bontrager saddle. Never got used to it . The specialized avatar gel is one you forget the saddle is there. Keep the bontrager they look cool hanging by a nail in the shed!

I just replaced the stock Bontrager seat (Trek 1500) with a Terry Falcon and have been wondering why I didn't do this last year. The Bonty was bulky, restictive, uncomfortable, and caused lacerations to my undercarriage. The Falcon is a dream to ride.

I have read a bunch of these seat threada as I also am getting memo's from the boys on the accomodations. However, One person says they couldn't stand the _______ but now that they have a ______ things are much better, and three posts later someone else says the exact opposite. Maybe if we posted a pic of both seats side by side we could see some common points???? One question though... Is a well padded seat ever comfortable or would less always be better???

Depends on your specific hinny... as you point out... the only consistency is that everyone thinks something different in terms of the best seat.
I also think it matters how you ride... the stock Bontrager Select I just got rid of is great up to about 20 miles... then it kinda spreads the cheeks and starts to hurt. I stay in the saddle almost the entire ride and I'm a Clyde.
The only exception to that is everyone says to get measured.
BTW... I also gotta add that there must be some things changing from year to year. I just bought a Specialized Avatar. Some folks say its stiff as a board compared to an Alias. When I tried to flex it with my hands, they flexed about the same (and no, I didn't confuse flex and padding). I admit a difference between using my hands and my whole body, but I still think they change from year to year so the differences also change.

I replaced the Bonty on my 1500 with a SI Flyte. Feels very comfortable hours into a ride. I like it so well I put one on my new Madone 5.2 But like bikes, it is a matter of fit. My @$$ fits the flyte just fine.
