Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Uh quick question

does anyone make like a clamp to put on your hadlebars that will just hold a regular smaller LED flashlight? Like something that will let you clip a flashlight to your handlebars etc. Im asking kuz i want to be able to take the flashlight off if need be and would rather invest in one smaller flashlight not a small flashlight and a cycle light. Thanks.

Most lights just unclip (takes 1 sec, the mounting band stays on) and are perfect for use as a flashlight.

Get one of these:
https://www.fenix-store.com/product_...roducts_id=388

And a fenix P3d
https://www.fenix-store.com/product_...roducts_id=227

and some rechargable batteries. (available cheaply on ebay)

This will give you a light that can do bright, really bright, STUPID bright, and blinding, as well as a great handlebar mount.

There are cheaper alternatives, but no better values.

Try the plastic lock ties used for bundling wires (also used to hold bike computers to bars and forks). $3 at any hardward store.

Just a note:
I have a 5D maglite with the upgraded bulb, and it's almost as bright as my P3d on the medium setting (second dimmest of four settings). The technology advances in battery and LED technology are insane for the last 5-10 years. When you do pick up a light, look for something which advertises at least 100 lumens.

me and a friend were bored the other night around 12am, so we went and hit the trails. I duct taped my 4d led maglit to my handlebars, it worked alright but my maglite start to dim the more it rattled etc. and it stayed dim, kinda started going out,t he batteries werent dead they were new, later after we got off the trail the maglite got back to being bright. Do regular cycle lights have some type of feature that prevents this, also my friend who duct taped a mini maglite to his helmet also had his light start to dim down about halfway evne tho the batteries where now. Do you think this would happend to a flashlight that has rubber coating?? I plan to buy 3 flashlight connecter things, they ar elike 3 bucks each and 3 high watt smaller flashlights, 2 for handlesbars one for helmet. I can get really high powered flashlights form my old work for a huge discount etc. Do you think this diming effect will happen with a higher end flashlight with rubber coating??? Thanks for the info guys.
