Virgin Airlines, check up to 70lbs free "sports equipment"

Just a heads up, I just found out that Virgin Airlines will check up to 70lbs free of sports equipment including bicycles. I'm going to call tomorrow to check for sure, but I'm excited about not paying 180 r/t to fedex. http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb...sequipment.jsp

The problem is that to fly Virgin AIrlines you'll pay $500 more than other airlines.

I just flew from DC to London two weeks ago and checked a bike that was boxed up. They told me that checking one bike on an international flight is free.

Virgin Airlines rocks in my opinion. I have to travel from SF to San Diego on business a lot and I always fly Virgin when I can.

I may start taking a bike from now on!
