Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

head set spacer ?

the headset on my systemsix has 4 carbon spacers plus 1 aluminum one. the thing is, i like to ride with the handlebars all the way down. so i've now got a 5 spacer stack above the stem. is there something i can do to get rid of it? or at least get rid of like 3 of them? i've thought about cutting it, but idk how that'll work. if anybody has any ideas i'd love to hear them.

The only thing to do is cut the fork post, but why did you have all those spacers if you like the bars down?should have been cut when you got your bike.If you cut remember if you want a higher position your buying a new fork.

all those spacers came with the bike, there wasn't anything i could do about them. i mean, i guess i could just suck it up and ride with the huge stack.

take it to shop they'll but it properly for 20$ or so. just make sure, cause you can't add steerer tube back on. you might want to leave one (or two) if you think you'll ever want to sell it.
