Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

50s. Thought about the 58s, but this bike is an all-arounder, so I thinking about the weight and the impact of cross-winds where I ride. (Lots of wind off the water.)

By they way, that bike looks pretty hot, especially with that lighting effect. Do you have regular daylight pics, I would be interested to see how it looks on the road. Also, with that much post exposed, I would think it would act like a spring, do you get much flex on it?

From your seatpost extension, it would appear you are tall, not just long-armed. But I understand the desire to "look" cool.

I really like the look of the Vuka Sprint short and shallow. What I don't like is the price. Make it available at about $100 and I would be all over it. I just can't justify spending over $300... ok, who am I kidding... I just don't feel like it right now.

Have you seen the new Bontrager aero road bars? They have large kamm tail tops but not as expensive as the Zipps.

Stiffest bars I've ever used as well. I paid just over $200 on ebay if I remember correctly.

Guy who did my fitting on Saturday has arms and fingertips that almost get down to his knees. His wing span is a full 6 inches longer than his height. I haven't seen how his bikes are set up but I wouldn't be surprised if it was like that one above.

Did you buy them used, or new? If new, you remember who you bought them from? I think I may just have to do it, those look like exactly what I want. Although I think I want the hoods up closer to the flats, for a smoother transition.

Thanks! Never got around to getting it on the scale for a final weigh in, but just spec'ing out all the part weights, I come in at right around the 18lb mark.

At any rate, some asked for some better pics, so i was able to snap a few more. I know its not everyone's cup of tea, but for my purposes - mainly commuting and group rides on the weekends it suits them perfectly.

I got them from The Pros Closet on ebay. Brand spanking new. That pic was when I first got them. I trimmed the ends down, and I repositioned them since that pic. This is how they are now. The transition is perfect now.

Are your legs 6' long or something? That saddle height looks ridiculous!

I'm pretty sure I have this picture saved like 100 times. Everytime it comes up I hit right-click save.

Thanks guys. Glad you guys share my taste.

I do have a short torso, and long legs, and arms. The custom Berk saddle/post combo makes it look a bit longer than it is. I run about 5.5" of saddle to bar drop.
