As a "road bike", I'm going with "not".

Sure it can. It's a context thing IMO - we're in the roadie sub-forum, so IMO this is where it misses the mark.
Outside of the "road bike hotness" context, yours is a really cool bike.
Kinda like if I had a cool Subaru Outback wagon and posted it in a 4x4 truck subforum. That's just my take, based on the flavor of the "road bike" subforum, but hey, I could be way off.
Oh, welcome to the 41 (the Road Bike subforum)

BTW I'm a commuter, too, and do appreciate your bike. I wasn't trying to be a jerk or anything, so apologies if I came off that way.

Totally. A polished RD would look awesome on that bike IMO. With the hammered fenders, alloy crank and retro-cool frame, it'd go great IMO.

Close.
I vote stripping the wheel decals. Switching them to the newer gray/black would be an ok alternative too.
I've never been a fan of mismatched bottle cages but I almost think your combo would work better if you swapped them so they were on contrasting tubes.
