Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Cheers again mate! You did a great job. Those of you who are curious, here's what my bike would look like with a black saddle and black bar tape (still not "hot" by this thread's standards lol), courtesy of bianchi10:

I actually took this picture previously, not to ask for the photoshop haha. When I first saw bianchi's photoshop on it, I had the same sentiments as you in terms of throwing off the "flow", but it's kind of growing on me the more I look at it.

Congrats on the purchase. I know the previous owner. This bike got very light use. I would agree with Bianchi on the matchy-matchy black-on-black or white-on-white. Silver carbon bar tape would look good too (with black saddle).

I ran black/black on the old Fuji and white/white on my current FG, so I'm exploring different options. Right now it's black/pink:

I guess you either love or you hate it haha. (Also moved up the stem since I took that picture)

I like the pink tape...to me, bartape is the one thing to have some fun with, gotta switch it up to something different on occasion.

Seat looks too far forward. For this thread, remove the bottles, set chain, wheels, and remove rear reflector. By all means, get a better photo and try again!

Its slammed on the seatpost. If you actually need the seat there, then use a zero setback seatpost. Aesthetically it is definitely a NOT.

To each their own I guess. I prefer it with the white tape/saddle. Don't get me wrong, the black tape doesn't look bad, it just makes it look "average." My bike is all black so I'm kinda stuck with a black tape/saddle, but if I could I would change the colors.

Yeah no problem, I appreciate hearing your opinion. I like white/white as well but I guess I want a change? It's been sitting like that for almost a year now since I got it so I think I just want to mix it up a bit.

this is just my personal thoughts here:

koodos on trying something new with the bartape, but I dont think it goes well with it. looks like you could use a zero setback seatpost in a bad way.

I say, get a -6 degree stem, slam it down. white saddle, white bartape, then cut that periscope (steering tube) and this would be pretty nice.

Saddle is in its optimal position for bike fit.

Thanks bianchi for the opinion. The saddle is not really slammed, and if I get a zero-setback it looks like it'd be too far forward.

I think the 17 degree, 100mm Thomson looks weird and is definitely too short for me. So I have a Ritchey C260 on the way And I'll probably just put black tape on for now.

zero set back wouldn't be to far forward, it would put the clamp in the dead middle of your saddle instead of clamping at the back of the rails. Having rails clamped in the very back can put stress on the rails which can increase the chances of them breaking. Not saying it WILL happen, but it can increase the chances.

If one overlooks the predominant logos, this Cannondale is set up very nice and should improve with the aero look wheels...
