Ultegra 11 speed with Campy shifters (and a shiftmate) on a Peugeot steel frame? Quite the mix...

Wow you've got a better eye than me. All I can tell from that pic is that it's a Peugeot.

No shiftmate. The derailleurs are campy. Only used the shimano crank because campy isn't comparable with the swiss bottom bracket. Better picture pending... Just took this at 6 am pre-ride.

I didn't realize you could get swiss outboard cups. Sweet build.

After the custom repaint at Parlee (from standard ghost matte black to matte phantom gray with matte silver ghost logos and accents), and with the Prologo Scratch Nack saddle recovered in plain black leather...I think it's time to buy some new shoes for this machine...

Nice work! But I would remove the chain stay protector.

gc3, it's HOT! what wheelset do you currently have? And what's the motivation for changing them?

Hot. One of those swoopy 3T stems might be better.

Those are generic chinese open mold 38mm rims from Farsports, built locally to about 1260 grams, and intended to serve as an inexpensive first foray into carbon clinchers. They've been great for 4000 miles, but if I can find a great deal a branded wheelset, I'll get myself a nice xmas present.

Are you happy with it? I know I have done some custom things and even though it looked fine, it didntbturn out how i pictured it in my head.

I really do like the look of it, and had a good idea of what to expect, since I'd seen pics of the same color scheme on a velosmith bicycle studio build. I didn't want anything too gaudy, being a stealth guy, but did add my initials which means I'm stuck with it forever. Is it a big change? Of course not, most would barely notice it. My first impression was that it makes the chinese wheels look a little cheap, though! I may spring for some eebrakes to knock off some weight, although this paint job only added about 60 grams, my weight weenie OCD is starting to kick in again.

I completely understand what you mean. 60g to most people would get a response of "just poop before a ride" type of comment, but I know where you are coming from because I am the same way.

That Parlee is fantastic. Hot.

coppercook62 12-15-13 06:06 PM

Kudos for being up at 6 a.m. to ride your bike. ;)

The bike has potential but you have to stage it correctly to get a hot in this thread. Lose the bag and bottles. And what frame is that?
