Sorry but not. I am sure it is a great bike but it has an identity crisis between modern and old school. I think it'd look hot if you were to go back to an old school crank, put DT shifters, different stem, off with the bottle cages and matching wheels (saw you comment). I'd go backwards in terms of looks to the 90's. Bet is rides good though.

pretty much full on "NYET" for me...and trying to match bartape to logo color, that ain't working for me either...

    What is "NYET"?

I think after ten years of having this bike it might be time for something new. Considering either the r5 or s5. It will feel nice to upgrade.

Wait. You got Jack Kane to custom paint your bike and you painted it… dark blue? He does some crazy awesome work, but I guess you were going for UNDERstated. REALLY understated. It worked but it's a shame that you didn't showcase Kane's talent with paintwork. It's just meh for me, sorry.

You've been dating for 8 years, you've bought a condo together and you still don't know if you want to propose?? Commitment issues? Don't believe the hype about marriage, it's an awesome thing. Campy Chorus shifters, Campy Athena FD & RD
Shimano Ultegra drivetrain (Had to due to Swiss-threaded BB)

Rides like a dream and I love it. Weighs in at 19.0 lbs including pedals and cages.

Note: I'm probably going to go with all-black bartape next time.

I posted this same bike a few pages back with a crappy night-time picture and build in-progress. I hope this picture vindicates it.

^ I love it. True, not crazy about the bar tape color, but if you change, seems like it'd be a shame to go with black. Maybe the orange in the frame color? Or maybe some yellow in the tape somehow. Love your black crankset and the silver seat post and stem. I'm not a typically a fan of older bikes but that one is HOT to me.

That frame never had downtube shifters - it doesn't even have the bosses for them. Except for the crank and the bottle cages, all components seem to match the age of the frame quite well actually.

*edit* -- how much drop you got there? Though, I suppose w/ the ISP, you can always go lower (seatpost) later.

When I first built this up almost two years ago, it was 15.3lbs with Sram Red-black, Enve 65s, Enve stem/handlebar, Rotor 3D+... I haven't weighed it since. I'm sure it's slightly heavier with EPS but I've never been a ww to begin with.

That is pretty darn light for an Aero bike. Ok, so.. if you had to chose between this or the DeRosa... which one?

I'd be torn because both bikes share similar ride characteristics, but I'd choose the Ridley at the end of the day. One thing I noticed with the Ridley (even with the older 2011 Noah I had test ridden) was that its very easy to get the bike up to speed. Handling is spot on, and I haven't had to second guess myself on descents as it feels very stable. The 2012-current models have slightly improved in comfort due to the different carbon layup from previous years. I've done a back to back century on the Ridley and on the De Rosa; the edge in comfort definitely goes to the De Rosa.

    some final notes

    1) the background is the concrete block house of a roadway that makes a flyover by where i live. makes for a nice background
    2) shot with my trusty old Nikon D40X with a Nikon 50mm AF-s 1.8. I can't say enough about this lens. Its cheap ($200), fast, light and robust. often times i don't need a tripod in low light because of to 1.8. I've gotten rid of all my other Nikon lenses and i just use this now. if you shoot nikon you need this lens
    3) the bike is awesome to ride. The one thing i was nervous about is the saddle - its a 90 gram un-padded taiwan carbon saddle. Its actually not uncomfortable at all. but because there is no cover i felt like i was sliding all around it. the saddle is now 2cm higher than in the picture to match saddle height on other bikes
    4) the carbon bottle cages inspire no confidence at all. I'm gonna switch back to more secure cages for all the races with crap roads.
    5) the handle bar position is lower than other my other bike. has felt really good so far. so i'm probably gonna keep it that way.

I normally absolutely hate the look of Specialized bikes, and without the colors on yours I'd probably hate it too... but you've got it setup beautifully and the colors take it to another level. I have some plans on doing some 90's-esque custom paint on a bike in the future. Neon colors and polished metal for sure.
