Yep, the shifters and dérailleurs are Apex, but the crank is actually a S300 with red rings and the worn sram cassette was replaced with a cs6700 so the drive train is a bit hodge podge now.

Hey, if he's had it long enough to get "new clothes" and drive train, fit shoulda been dialed in ages ago. Honestly, that's such a sharp bike, there's no excuse. It's like an Irish pennant.

Thanks all for the great feedback on the new paint job.
To answer a few questions, yes, the seatpost has been lowered and the fork tube has been cut back.
I had just gotten the bike back together when I took a pic of it, so thats why the seat post is a little high and I was playing with lowering the bars down from where I had them and wanted to make sure that I was willing to commit before busting out the hack saw!

Not my photo, but about as clear a photo as I ever got of my first (now ex & on the market) bike. Once I upgraded the wheels, I thought it looked fairly respectable.

Wheels were chosen for aesthetics, but replacement crank set, cassette, shifters, saddle and stem for practical reasons. Used to have another cage, which was chintzy and constantly launching bottles, but I never replaced it once this bike was relegated pretty much to racing only, where a single bottle was sufficient for the typically short Cat 5 park races.

Warm. Presents nicely except for cable insertion behind steerer tube, weird (to my taste) tube shapes and funky drops on the bars.

Thank you! You know, I was indifferent to this look when I first bought the bike. I chose it simply because I preferred it to the other bikes the shop had in my size and budget, even though it was more than the "starter" racing bike I was after. As I made changes, I realized the bike had some merits, so I hoped the choices I made going along maintained the integrity and aim of it. Glad to hear I did right by Felt fans such as yourself.

More importantly than the looks of the bike, how do you like the ride? I have been more than pleased with all of the Felt bikes that I have owned.

I was quite happy with the way it rode - it served me well and I was never disappointed with it. However, the more I got used to it, the more it seemed too small.
I pushed the saddle all the way back and extended the stem, but it still felt cramped from time to time, especially whenever I sat back on the saddle after riding on the rivet for a sprint. Although the bike I'm getting to replace it is only 1 cm larger, it feels worlds different, fit wise; it is no improvement in ride quality.

I think it would look better with a zero offset seat post, seeing that your saddle is so far forward. Wheels are a bit loud.
