Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Sweet - on so many levels. Ease off the vignetting just a tad.

New build - Hot or Not?

I just built this up last month. Chinese carbon frame from eBay, full 105 5700 group, Mavic Aksium Race wheels. Relatively low-cost build just for the experience of building a bike for myself. Came in a hair over 17 lbs.

Bought this Novemeber during JensonUSA "Black Friday" sale. I've been waiting for a good rain to clear all the crud off the roads. Wheels are Reynolds Assaults. 105 components w/ 7800 crankset. I'll be upgrading the rear mech eventually, but I'm happy the way it is right now. Obviously, I need another cassette so I don't have to keep switching between the other set of wheels.

^^ very hot, love the saddle-to-bar-drop, we don't usually see it that high around here.

Seatpost looks kinda ugly tho, try a 3T.

That's Ok lee. Thanks to people that can and don't mind spending it, people like me who can't, but probably would, get to gawk at and drool over such beautiful things I would have no otherwise way of knowing even exist. I would love to see a picture of the WHOLE thing.

Wowzaz.. That is a very stiff looking bike with some very prominent stiff lines. That looks incredible leej. Not that you care what any of us should think. Thank you for the pics, it totally completes the chronicle.

BTW: the wheels look amazing. Spokes and all even bring out the lines in the bike. Schawing.
