Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Actually, I do like it...I'm not sure if it's ready for a hot, but not bad at all.

exactly what i was hoping/ expecting to hear.
personally i'd go with black hoods, black stem, maybe a set of high wheels.
Maybe rotate bars a bit down and remove a spacer.
Anything i forgot?

I have no idea since I have never seen you on your bike, but your bike looks a bit stretched out, no? Saddle is pretty far back and hoods are pretty far in front of front hubs. If I remember correctly we are about the same height. I'm in no way saying your set up is wrong. Just observing.

I actually like it. I dont know if I would say hot, but it has some real potential with some minor changes! I think black spacers, black stem, black bar, black bartape with White tape might balance the the front out. if you were able to drop spacers it would help aesthetically.

I'm very intrigued with this bike. I like looking at it.

I wonder if the iphone photo is distorting things a bit. I don't feel stretched out. I'm at 6' and actually just lowered my saddle a couple of mm's. I dunno, feels right for me. I'll have to compare it to my other bikes.

I dont think its a matter of distortion. Your saddle looks pretty far back from the down tube. Stem is a 110 right? I cant tell if it looks like the reach on your bars looks long or if it is just an allusion of length from the steering tube to the hoods. Not sure.

Again, I love your bike mang. Not tearing you apart, just observing from a standpoint of how your bike is set up. I haven't ridden with you or seen picts of you riding. Maybe you have longer legs and arms? I would be curios to see a Knee over foot plum bob to see where you position is.

I love those wheels. I think I like them better than my Reynolds Assaults. I noticed you selling a set on slowtwitch or somewhere shortly after I got mine so figured they had to be decent.

Yeah, stem is 110...100 was on it stock. That's also the stock seat post at the moment. The saddle is different, it had an antares, I put a antares VS on it.

I'm going to have to put it on the trainer and snap some photos of me riding it. Everything feels right/comfy to me when I'm riding it.

I would certainly say 'Hot,' but this makes me realize something that has bothered me that I've never put a finger on before - I don't like the visual overlap of the bar ends and HT.
