Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Seatpost looks a little on the short side. It might shift a bit smoother with a little more cable on the RD end. I would also suggest the rear brake cable goes behind the front cable at the bars. Otherwise, nice retro build.
Cheers

How dare you?! Well, the seat post may look short by modern standards, but this is from the days when a fist full of post was the norm. Plus, it's what my short-legged, long-torso'd body requires. The cable is a NOS Campagnolo rear derailleur cable, pre-cut at the factory to the optimal length. Campagnolo's first ever slant parallelogram paired Simplex retroflection levers = shifting perfection. If I were to route the rear brake cable behind the front it would get bunched up when I turn left. Notwithstanding the fact the cable started to creep forward around the seat cluster in the photos, both cables take a pretty natural curve, IMHO.

Btw, this was my race bike as a teenager.

Thanks, it's now completely finished

Added the Enve 1.0 fork, Cane Creek AER Headset and AER spacers, used lighter Deda Trafornatto bar tape and cut 1cm off the bars , these changes drop it by another 90 grams.

I'll ride it for a while and then cut the fork to lower the front end by 10mm and get rid of a spacer.

This. I don't think it's possible to make a better proportioned frame in that size. It doesn't look like a compromise - it looks good.

Agreed, some deep dish clinchers would look hot on that.
