Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

When a bike is obviously Hot, a crank arm out of position isn't enough to bring it down. Though I would like to see this bike with black chain rings and the black zipp logo's.

When I decide I want to set $50 on fire I'm going to get the beyond black stickers... That FSA crank will go bye bye in trade for a stages ultegra crank.

Hot or not? Picked it up today. Few pieces missing, saddle is not the final one. Just need to see if I want to do toupe, romin or selle italia.

The bike as it is weighs 15.88 pounds. Soon I will probably switch saddle to toupe pro and pedals to stainless steel instead of chome mo. This will save me an astounding 40g!!! For the price of only an extra testicle.

The paint is "warm", the frame is awesome and DA9k makes anything a touch warmer.

here's something to consider:white saddle, white tape and white decals on the wheels. i feel like that would emphasize the white frameset, and make it pop.

thoughts?

While I agree that the rabobank scheme may be a bit much or not everybody's cup of tea, I'll give myself an A for uniqueness . I have to say at first I was not 100% in love. But it really grew up on me and there aren't that many around. Appreciate your feedback.

I thought the same thing but then this came up to my head "dirty dirty dirty". The only time the bike would have looked good was the first day. Believe I did think about it many times.

I have to say I am thankful for being able to have such an amazing array of bicycles!

How can we judge "hot or not" without knowing if it can shift between front rings? Well, does it?

I give it a "HOT". Makes me want to hurry up and finish my TCR build (I only have the wheelset left to order).

To be completely honest, I don't mind the 2014 team bikes. I might consider buying one if it came with a free Jens Voigt attached.

I dig it, but it'd look much better with that new crank!

Do you have any appreciation for the hilarity of your comment? How much time Luis would spend standing on the side of the road? Or, how many times this could result in the "call of shame"?

I'd like to change my vote to: "Hot! Until the first chain drop."

Does no one else just shift the chain back on if it drops off (other than between the cassette and spokes) without having to touch the chain?

Yes, I have become quite good at it too. Although it has scratched the crap out of crank arm and bottom bracket shell...

Not if it gets sucked up and jammed between the front chainring and chainstay!

that has been my first (and last) dropped chain and that freaking thing got JAMMED up in there, it really sucked to get it out.

I really liked this color scheme when Rabobank was still active, liked the color switch to Belkin colors, & love the Giant/Shimano even more.

I think Giant generally picks great color for their teams.

Thanks for the HOTs! I just can't wait to ride it tomorrow. Can't sleep. Although the color scheme is loud, the bike is understated. Does that make any sense?

You can use tape like Fizik mircotex. Its glossy and therefor you can simply wipe off any dirt at the end of a ride. Use a degreaser spray and towel and boom bam, clean as new.

I cant get passed that stem either. Each time I look over the bike, my eye keeps going to that stem. Never cared much for the sprinter stems.

I REALLY think white saddle/bar tape would help a lot.
