Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm not sure which "crappy phone" you are using, but most any phone not too old has a pretty great camera on it. That excuse is quickly fading away… (Again, don't blame the pots for the bad soup, usually it's the chef!)

Oh, and the bike is still hot, IMO.

Yes, a British BB would work... kinda.

Swiss: 35 mm X 1mm (25.4 tpi) right/left 68mm
British: 1.370" X 24 tpi and 1.375" X 24 tpi right/left 68mm

If you mix: 35 mm = 1.378". Shell is slightly larger, thread pitch slightly finer. May seem to fit, but will be loose.

^Taken from Sheldon Brown. https://sheldonbrown.com/cribsheet-bottombrackets.html

I'd rather have a mixed drivetrain that fits perfect, than a brand-name-correct one that doesn't.

Thanks.

The phone is a pretty outdated HTC EVO 3D. The camera isn't terrible, but any cell phone simply isn't going to have adequate lensing to take a quality photo (from real camera standards... which most users will judge quality by).

That'd be grass. I live in this crazy place called Florida... where the winters are green and the summers are bleak.

Yeah, it's just bad composition on this one. Lot of shadow / highlight detail, with a lot of distracting shapes / patterns and harsh sunlight that is out of balance. If you put this bike in front of a solid light colored background with softer lighting, it would make a huge difference. But then again, this is bikeforums not FredMiranda

Forgive the parascope I just finished the build today and need to get some hours in the saddle before I decide to cut the steerer. Heading to Sufferlandia in a few minutes.

Like the Ritchey - but the red on the stem jumps out.

The Pug would be hot if not for the ugly black Ultegra crankset. Get a silver Athena on there!

There are a couple of red stripes painted on the frame, they just aren't showing well. I think the DA crank looks out of place if anything. I may change it up this year.

some final notes

1) the background is the concrete block house of a roadway that makes a flyover by where i live. makes for a nice background
2) shot with my trusty old Nikon D40X with a Nikon 50mm AF-s 1.8. I can't say enough about this lens. Its cheap ($200), fast, light and robust. often times i don't need a tripod in low light because of to 1.8. I've gotten rid of all my other Nikon lenses and i just use this now. if you shoot nikon you need this lens
3) the bike is awesome to ride. The one thing i was nervous about is the saddle - its a 90 gram un-padded taiwan carbon saddle. Its actually not uncomfortable at all. but because there is no cover i felt like i was sliding all around it. the saddle is now 2cm higher than in the picture to match saddle height on other bikes
4) the carbon bottle cages inspire no confidence at all. I'm gonna switch back to more secure cages for all the races with crap roads.
5) the handle bar position is lower than other my other bike. has felt really good so far. so i'm probably gonna keep it that way.
I have to agree!
I wanted an affordable prime lense, & now I find this lense to be my favorite. I rarely remove it from the body.

I agree that Ritchey deserves a full Ritchey component upgrade in Wet Black.

I'm afraid you're in the wrong forum...
I love R5's, but unfortunately that don't get any love here on BF.
Trek, Cervelo,& Specialized(more recently) are on the "BF blacklist".

Considering this cost me about 1100 dollars total to put together, I think I've done quite well for myself.
