Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Another Fat Guy on a Cervelo...

Picked up my 08 R3 frame yesterday. Got it from a LBS for 15% off, which isn't a terrible deal. So far I'm very happy with it. The fit is spot on and the ride feel/quality is great. Much stiff and about a pound lighter than my old Fuji Team SL. I'm extremely happy with my call on getting the R3 (pre TDF win).

Pics... Enjoy! Flame away guys... I know its going to happen.

That's a hot bike man! But you really need some white handle bar tape.

Nice ride. You don't look fat. Must be an inside joke. Enjoy it, I'm sure you will.

The tape is in the garage. The grey is the old stuff but I'm waiting on replacement hoods since I tore mine in a crash a couple weeks ago.

Get that bike off the top of your car....

At my last race, I passed a girl riding an '08 R3 and commented on her nice bike...

I then saw her saddle get caught in the finishing banner as she left...

The bike was ripped off the top of the car...

It made me cry...

Nice bike by the way...

And I resemble the remark....

This thread isn't complete until we actually see a fat man on a Cervelo. In full Team USA kit. Be sure to get a shot of the platform pedals, too.

Very pretty and she definitely needs white bar tape! I use either Mr. Clean Magic Eraser, or Oxyclean (depending on the type of bar tape) to keep mine clean.

The bike was ripped off the car by a finishing banner?!? What was the finishing banner held up by? I guess if it was a big event, it could be a wire or something. I was thinking flimsy twine/rope holding together a crappy little sign.

Nice bike! I almost bought one myself about a week ago but wound up with a Look instead. Personally I'd stick with the black tape - all this white on white bike stuff is sucking the testosterone right out of me
