Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Dura Ace BB compatible with FSA crank?

My first experience with external BBs was with my FSA MegaExo BB with a Gossamer crank on my Cervelo. I've since put a new one on when moving to a FSA SLK crank.

I am thinking about going back to a std 53/39 and picking up a DA crank and BB. Question to BF is... are the DA BB cups compatible with an FSA crank? I'd like to use the FSA compact when going on a trip in the mountains (once a year) but think I might go back to a standard for the rest of the year.

makes me wonder why everyone is using the MegaExo BB (lots of people have had squeaking problems) vs. a DA one then (with their FSA crank)

thanks for the info.

Only because it comes with the crank/bike.

Unless it's a danger to their lives, few people will bother with it.

I have seen a number of people using FSA Mega-Exo Ceramic bottom bracket with Shimano gear.

I'm running FSA SL-K cranks with a D/A BB on my cross bike right now...works perfectly...
