Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Anyone Ever Seen a Trainer like this?

I was just wondering if anyone knows what kind of trainer this is. I have never seen anything like it.

it could be home made, but it looks too fancy...

it also looks like it's doing the trick, as far as resistance is concerned....I WANT TO SEE VEINS IN MY TEETH!!!!

No kidding! Are there any obvious benefits to using such a trainer?

Then, they go on to say that one cyclist improved his 15 second power performance by 18% over 2 year ("quite a considerable improvement"). Immediately following that, they write about a group of trained cyclists averaging a 17.7% increase in 15 second power performance in just 3 weeks. That's quite a time difference for almost the same power increase.

well, in the second case, they were a GROUP of TRAINED cyclists...so maybe they're averaging it, or adding it all up or something...

either way, there are much cheaper air resistance-based trainers availible.

RIP....OFFF.

so then why is one of the 7up guys using one? as a side note remember that one of the 7up squad won the national championship crit in '03, but then again who knows if they used this trainer.

I was thinking the same, plus..... with guns like those, me thinks maybe he can't get enough resistance with a typical mag unit.
