Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Getting people out on electric bikes is better than sitting them all in cars. Eventually they'll want to pedal.

E-bikes are awesome! Electric Bike Shop in Stuart Florida may hold solution...

The Electrification of Transportation appears to have the potential for the quickest, the most permanent, and the most profound impact with the best ancillary benefits for Human health, Land use, Pollution and Global warming. It is a natural, highly efficient response to the problem of "Peaking World Oil Production". Lets not play by "Big Oil's" rules anymore. Lets break away from those rusty chains of the gas pump and change the way we get around a few times a week!!
Not only is it rejuvenating ( I feel like a friggin' kid again ) you'll notice an increased sense of well being and a savings in your wallet! Did I mention that an Electric Bike or Electric Scooter will pay for itself in 6 months to a year? We own a family run e-bike Electric Bike Shop in Stuart Florida. We are not greedy in our profit margin. Honesty and Quality come first. We offer Free Shipping and Assembly, replacement batteries at our cost, and a bike theft replacement policy. We sincerely would like to see America embrace Electric Transportation and experience the freedom of it! Check out or site www.ElectricBikeShopOnline.com for an awesome selection of ebikes. We would love to be of service to you and your family. We have something for everyone: Beach cruisers for mom, mountain bikes for dad, bmx's for jr, scooters for the young'ns, and trikes and comfort cruisers for grandma and grandpa.
Remember... "You get what you pay for".
Shop Locally and Buy Quality. Think twice before supporting the billionaire walton children (Walmart). They're customer service for warranty work is non-existent after you make that purchase and you have to assemble it yourself. Thanks for looking and have a great day!

...no license or registration is required as long as they don't go faster than 20 mph and their power doesn't exceed 750 watts.....

Looks like a few of us are going to need to register and get plates for our bikes

I think E-bikes would be cool commuters in some cases.

They would be cool if I could still pedal my ass off, but with the help of the e-bike assist, fly around on the flats at 45 mph.

I would get to work so fast. Haha!

I'd like to see a ten year increasing price floor on gas coupled with an increasing mandate for automotive manufacturer fuel efficiency standards with NO exemption for light trucks. There are LOTS of nasty details to work out for how you calculate fuel efficiency for vehicles that don't use gas.

Using a electric bike might be cheaper in the states that treat them as electrically assisted bicycles. Often meaning no required insurance, no special license, and no annual registration fees and taxes. They often can be ridden anyplace a normal bicycle can be ridden.

Also, if the electric bike is a kit added to an existing bike, you retain the original gearing. Which gives you the option of only using the motor to help uphills while still getting some health benefit from riding.
