I'll ride anything as long as it fits me (physically) reasonably well.
Having said that, that bike is 3x more expensive than my motorcycle.

Hey look! The reason for this forum!
Keeping up with Lance
Blame seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong for the high-priced bike movement. As Armstrong's victories piled up from 1999 to 2005, so did demand from affluent cycling enthusiasts determined to buy replicas of his tour-winning machine, or something comparable, no matter the price.
In addition to boosting the sport's overall popularity, one of the most enduring of the so-called Lance effects "was to get the people who already rode a high-priced bike to buy a higher-priced bike," said Jay Townley, a partner in a Wisconsin-based marketing and research firm who studies cycling trends.
Hence, the proliferation in recent years of custom-bike builders, perhaps as many as 190 worldwide, Townley said, that cater to the cycling market's upper crust.
"The people driving this high-end business aren't your typical bike commuter," Townley said. "They aren't helping the environment or saving money by buying these high-priced bikes. They're doing it because it's a fashion statement for them within their circle of friends and acquaintances who happen to be other bikeys."

where's the "wouldn't buy it even if i had a spare $15k?"
I might buy a disgustingly expensive bicycle if I had unlimited income, but it wouldn't be a colnago.

I've actually had the honor of riding that bike around the block a couple times. One of the customers at my LBS owns, and yes he rides it and can you believe he has number 1 in the series, says so on the frame.

FLIP IT!!!
That being said... it is beautiful.... absolutely beautiful... but foolish for the price. I love my $400 trek 1400 and ride the hell out of it. It was quoted perfectly..."You don't need it. ... It's a toy." Although I don't know many people that would shell out that buckage for a "toy" .

People routinely line up at Cat 5 races with $8,000-10,000 bikes.
I wouldn't ride the particular bike because I wouldn't pay for the names.
However, when I get the next bike, it will be a nice frame, possibly custom (maybe a Parlee) Dura Ace 7900, or perhaps Record., SRM cranks and some nice wheels. that's easily over $10,000.
In perspective, you can easily spend twice that on golf at a country club in a single year, and have nothing tnagible to show for it.

If I had the income to justify such a bike expense, I would be riding it. I a minimalist where I like to make use of everything I own, selling off or giving away the things which sit for too long.

Colnago sold out. R&A didn't. I live near R&A they have a ton of stuff they don't sell. Thats because of the prices.
They have 2 ferrari bikes too. Atleast the last time I was there.

Good. It works for you. Not downgrading it. (I belong to 3 clubs.) Just making a point that spending money on your chosen avocation isn't unusual.
