Tips against WIND?

Yeah, you've gotta get your head and upper body down.
Also, I like to up the revs just a little, coz sudden strong gusts can knock you back a bit, leaving you pedaling at 50revs for a few seconds. This kills my momentum

Gear down, forget about your speed, and remember it's futile to think you can outmuscle the wind.

I make no claim that it is rational.

Don't mince words
Stand up and sprint against it. For 30 sec. or more. Rest 30 sec. and repeat. AndY repeat, and repeat.
Yes, it's hard; yes, it hurts; yes, it makes you HTFU and get strong and fast. And yes, it's good for you.

Yelling and growling at the wind helps, too.
Really.

On windy days I like to go find some steep hills and grind them out. It's a lot more fun than getting my ass kicked by wind on the flats.

Well I feel your pain, I live in Oklahoma where you are lucky to find hills but you almost always have a south wind to ride into if you want. On my long rides I just find a route that goes east/west. You still deal with a crosswind but it is not nearly as bad as riding into a 25mph wind for 2 hours. I have multiple routes to ride and I don't always avoid the wind, I just decide how much I want to tolerate. If it changes direction on you all the time, well not much you can do about that.

Thats what I do. Some rides along the shore, usually going south, are brutal, ever changing wind and gusts. The worst is when people running on the sidewalk seem like they're going just a little bit slower than you.

Option #1 -Obvious bf response - turn around, ride WITH the wind
Option #2 Draft off another rider in front of you - preferably one that looks like this - completely forget about the wind.

yeah, but wet roads = less rolling resistance, except when you hit puddles.

tips for wind riding in August.
man, this weather is really pissing me off. here in the midwest i expect, heck i even want, early morning heat and dead calm in the month of August. instead, its 50 degrees with 15 mph winds out of the east at 7am. spring was long, cold and wet. now, fall has arrived in August. clearly the world is coming to an end and i missed the memo. later.
