Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Who will be the first on BF to buy Di2?

Face it, someone on this board is eventually going to buy it, no matter how much everyone ridicules it. In fact, it may even turn out to be a good group.

So who's it gonna be?

I know this thread is going to turn into a big joke, like who is a bigger gear-wh0re than who, or "You're a Fred!" - "No, you're a Fred!", but in reality, I really am very interested in who will be the first BF'er to own Di2.

Are you kidding? There will be at least a couple guys with it before it's even available to general consumers. As trendy as it is to ridicule anything new, we all love new stuff and this is definitely a headliner. I'll admit to wanting to give it a shot, but not at > $4k.

I'd buy Di2 rather than 7900 or Super Record. Those are just remodels. This is a whole new deal that could well be the future of high end groups.

Their execution was poor, with no discernible advantage at the time.
