Usually pockets that are designed to double as stuff sacks have a double-sided zipper pull; in other words, there are tabs to pull on the inside and outside of the zipper. Are you using the correct pocket?

I don't really know. It has an exterior back pocket with a small velcro fastener, and a wee small inside pocket that just folds the edge over like a sandwich bag.

You know how the stow pocket is only attached on the sides? You have to fold the jacket up so that it fits into that space behind the pocket, then turn the pocket inside out.

The small pocket on the side on the inside is the stuff pocket. You have to roll it up really tight to get it to fit. Fold the jacket so that it is long but only as wide as the pocket with the pocket at the bottom. Then roll really tight. Once stuffed it is small enough to fit in a jersey pocket.
