Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Another PBK question

I have ordered some small items, e.g. water bottles and tools etc, from PBK and every time, the stuff arrived pretty fast with no problem. I am thinking about getting some bigger items, e.g. a Campy crankset, from them. Wondering if I may have to pay US import duty on that.

Technically, yes.

Realistically, doubtful.

You are technically also responsible for any local sales taxes.

I didn't have to pay anything extra for my Campy Chorus Cranks....just for insurance i had em ship to my office. (So it goes through the mail room etc...figures it's gonna make it harder for the post man to collect the tax...the mail room gals sure as hell wouldn't have paid it)

True for everything you buy online. Sales tax is really a consumption/use tax, so it is due were you live. It is a loophole we all use though.
