I had an older lady... still fit the soccer mom stereotype, Pull over one day and ask me if I was OK (I was finishing up fixing a flat) than she asked if I needed to call anyone and she offered to let me use her cell phone... very nice lady.

If by "soccer mom" you mean some woman being distracted by her bratty kids, while trying to drive her vehicle, then I would agree.

although, for some reason i have never actually met a true soccer mom (AKA one whose kid plays soccer) who was cute...
i'm not going to call you (the OP) an idiot as i think i get what you are saying. On the other hand brandy is 100% correct. People are stupid, and no matter what group you look at there will be a one that does something dumb. I am sure you have never done something like turn on the radio or talk on a cell phone while driving.
I could name a bunch of "groups" that i might be identified with, depending on the situation, who you might hate because someone in that group did something stupid.

I would have guessed it is because you are a Communist Agent of Satan, or a Witch.

She would not take it as a license to hate on all people of the same demographic as the person who hit her, of that much I am certain.

Terribly unfortunate for sure...
I will say though that although I often roll stop signs...I NEVER do it blindly, and NEVER assume that people will stop for me. Obviously if she didn't stop it's largely her fault, but that's not to say that the cyclist didn't make an unwise assumption. If you gamble enough, you'll eventually lose. And we as cyclists know...cycling on roads is dangerous in itself, without us putting more trust in drivers hands than they can handle.

Oh ya, BOO for jumping to such quick conclusions on the soccer mom thing. That's just immature.

Sad day today. A buddy of mine and I were riding our usual weekday 20 miler, and we came up to a stop sign with tons of cars stopped up, ambulances, fire fighters, police cars, the whole nine yards. As I come up to the stop sign (speed limit was like 15mph) I look to my right, and see a a guy on a stretcher with cycling shoes, shorts, and shaved legs. His helmet was behind the stretcher and face looked to be wrapped up in gauze (couldn't tell exactly, for the damn police officers don't like cyclists in this area and weren't letting me rubberneck). I saw glass everywhere. Above the stretcher was a van with the windshield shattered (While I didn't see the accident, I can only assume what happened). The defendant was standing outside of her car and what looked like, her trying to explain what happened. From the few words I heard, I think she said she took her eye off the road as she was coming up to the stop sign, and went through. This is the first time I've ever seen a real accident where police were involved and someone needed to be taken on an ambulance.
P.S (For anyone living in Atlanta who does the peachtree bikes/vinnings loop ride, this happened about 2 miles from the Lovett left turn.)

Did I miss the part about you witnessing the accident???? Why do you hate again?
