For those who have actually changed: Rival work better with Rival crank?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

There has been lots of discussion on here about the front derailleur shift quality of SRAM's Rival group.

Has anyone switched from another brand of crank to a Rival crank with their Rival group? Was there a noticeable change in shift quality? What year Rival components were you dealing with? Rival's crankset can be bought pretty cheaply. If it's a solution, it would be worth the investment.
