Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Lemond Sarthe and Buenos Aires geometry

Anyone know how to locate specs on Lemond bikes? The website is gone. Specifically I'm looking for specs on the Sarthe and Buenos Aires? Is one more traditional/relaxed than the other?

I guess Greg's divorce from Trek went through. I believe the Sarthe (which is what I ride) is slightly more relaxed than the Buenos Aires. If you have really good eyes and a fantastic protractor, you might be able to calculate the geometry from my avatar.

Sarthe is definately more of a traditional than the BA...

Wow...sucks that they took down the sight.
I guess the divorce is final.

Wow, it was just up. Maybe 10/1 was the doom date. Its not surprising they took down the website even though there are probably a few bikes left out there in some shops. Not even a automated link to theirs - I bet Greg won the rights to the domain.

i have an '06 sarthe and it's not really aggressive but it does have that longer top tube so it can stretch you a little if you don't have a long torso.

it's a fantastic bike... i wish i still rode mine...

Hmmm...I seem to recall they had the same geometry, except that the BA used a sloped top tube.

What size? The 55 BA has 565 TT, 550 ST, 'horizontal' C2C. 150 HT

I _think_ the STA is 73 deg.

I think the 53 has 545, 530, 138, 73.5 deg.

All numbers from memory -- use this information only for good.

EDIT: fixed STA. Note, the geometry table linked to above by Madridjoe is wrong. The TT listed in there is the actual TT length. I guarantee that the _effective_ TT length for a 55 Lemond (Zurich, BA, etc.) is 565mm.
