Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Frozen Foliage Frolic...Or...Pictures Of Cold Trees...

Still lacking motivation. When I went back upstairs to get my wool socks, I almost crawled back into my warm bed with my beautiful wife...

35⁰ F when I left. Frost just melting. Fingers frozen. It took a while to warm up...

I rode north this time and threw in one climb for the fun of it. 66 miles. 5237 ft climbing (Garmin). My fitness is really starting to fade...

The foliage is coming along nicely, but a little early this year. The leaf peepers are out in force and there was a lot of traffic on the roads. The colors would have looked nicer if the sun would have stayed out...

Ski areas in order of appearance. Bromley, Stratton, Okemo...

ohhh I would love to spin those roads. Beautiful. I have a friend who moved to the Essex Junction area a year ago. He's a hammerhead and a good guy if you'd like to hoop up with him.

That's some great scenery, but I can relate about lacking motivation sometimes on cold mornings especially when it's still dark out.

Essex Junction is just under 3 hours from where I live...

Exact opposite side of this small state...

If you have not found it, Competitive Edge is a great little bike shop in Hadley. It is small but has a ton of stuff. I purchased my Cervelo from them. They know a ton of routes around the area...

Doesn't look that cold - there are still leaves on the trees
