Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Water in my carbon rims

I have loads of water in my carbon Dura-Ace 50mm tubular rims. I checked to see if there is a drain hole but there is not. Will this damage them in any way. How can I get the water out.Any suggestions would be most appreciated.

you definitely don't want it in there. drill a super tiny hole on the tire contact part of the rim, drain, then put a tire boot or patch over it. oh, and after you drill, drop a little super glue on the exposed and cut fibers to keep from unraveling. that's what i'd do.

I pull the tires to drain wheels usually, but Lenard Zinn did a piece about drilling drian holes in tall carbon rims a while back. You should have a drain hole is you plan on riding in the rain often, and many can be put in along the sidewall without affecting any of the mechanical properties of the rim itself.
