Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Campy Chorus 10sp Chain - need small pin, small guide pin

I got a smoking deal on 2 chorus chains from PBK, but one came with the small pin and small guide pin in the little black bag with the orange warning missing. It was obviously canablized, as the seal on the box was open and the plastic bag containing the chain was torn).

PBK is now out of stock, and I'd rather have the chain than the credit, so does anybody ride chorus 10sp and use a Wipperman or QuickLink or PowerLink, that would be willing to mail me their little black bag with the orange warning in new coindition? I'd be happy to send a couple bucks for your troubles. We can exchange addresses thru PM or something.

Thanks!

I use nothing but 5.9 mm Chorus chains and a SuperLink 4, but I don't have any black bag. If you intend on using the chain, buy a SuperLink:

THe bke came with a superlink, I think it was SRAM or Shimano - it didn't work well, so I got away from it. I'll try your recommendation. What do you mean you have not black bag? It comes with the chain...It's about 1 inch wide and 1.25 inch long, flat, and contains the connector pn and guide pin.

When you break the chain to size it, do you break off the free end, or the end with the cable tie that Campy says to use with their special pin? Or does it not matter?

Thanks

The end with the cable tie should remain un-tampered with if using the Campy pins. Trim the other end. Or read the label on the zip tie. It doesn't matter if using a 3rd party connecting link.
