Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Thanks!

I am tall -- 6'2". It's a good amount of drop, but I'm comfortable in the drops for hours on end. I'm considering removing the tapered spacer underneath the stem to get just a bit lower (my back isn't quite horizontal when I'm in the drops with forearms parallel to the ground -- I'm all arms and legs, built weird).

The saddle is so far forward because I should be using a no setback post, but I'm a sucker for a matching stem and post.

It's definitely a workhorse, but with just enough glitz and glamor to keep it interesting.

now someone correct me if Im wrong, and I plan on getting the 09 caad9 through a team thing, but they are not going to be available in 2009 unless purchased through the team program (i guess that means more than one) and are basically discontinuing the caad9. so if you want one, act now to get the 09 model thats available in 08. or so I was told.

You must be referring to retooling for the BB30 setup. Best to call Cannondale and verify otherwise it's just a rumor.

It will not be in until November. I want to upgrade the wheels. Any suggestions on a nice wheel set that won't break the bank. 5'10" , weigh 160 - I cycle about 100 miles give or take per week but am not yet a racer. I just like to ride hard and fast. I must also mention I am farily new to the sport and this is my first "nice" bike. Your suggestions are appreciated. Thanks.
My LBS says they will have a white 9-5 for me middle November. I can't wait.

If you're worried about the wheels, ask your LBS for a quote on a set of handbuilt wheels with Ultegra hubs and Velocity Aerohead/Aerohead OC rims, with the stock wheels in trade. Pick your favorite color of spokes, rims, and nipples. Accessorize.

My LBS already has a white/red 9 6. The thing is a beauty. They are actually letting me borrow a demo 9 6 next month for a few days. I can't wait

They also have the matte black 9 7 in stock.

I would have to say these are some of the nicest looking bikes on the market for an affordable price.
