Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

SRAM Red shifter compatibility

Is anyone using sram red shifters with force/rival derailleurs? I have the chance to get a pair of 2008 red shifters at a pretty good price, but I am unsure how the sram red shifter cable pull/zero loss will affect it.

I have read on some online stores that they are compatible, but I wanted to check with hopefully someone who actually has this type of setup.

All SRAM road through the line is interchangeable. The only difference is the materials used in construction.

I just have to make it three....all SRAM 10 speed groupsets are interchangeable....the difference are the weight and the material construction only.

I'm using '08 Red brifters with '09 Rival derailleurs. They work fine with each other as well.
