Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Need Advice on Crank

I have a 2006 Giant TCR-2. It has 105 all around except for the front derailluer, which is an Ultegra. The crank is a Truvativ Elita 36/50 with a 10 speed 12-25 cassette. While cleaning the bike yesterday, I noticed a few teeth on crank are worn down. It has not effected my ride, but I'm thinking about doing an upgrade.

I would like to go with a 39/53 and buy another Truvativ so that I can hopefully keep the bottom bracket and keep the cost down. The BB is a Truvativ Giga X-drive. I could always see if I could find a replacement chainring, but I'm leaning towards a better crank.

If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, please let me know.

thanks
john

Even on new chainrings some teeth are deliberately 'worn down' to aid shifting. I doubt that your chainring is actually worn.
