Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I wouldn't be shocked if a new team, or sponsor was used for Lance Armstrong's team. They could run two teams perhaps? If Lance races in the TDF next year, I would guess they'd want a more "marketable" sponsor than Astana. USPS and Disco were easy to market, Astana I think would be more difficult especially in N.America.

Maybe Contador with Astana, and newly formed team with a US sponsor for Lance's team?

Nike? I know they're out of the cycling game, but Lance is still on the payroll.

It's a wonder what a binding contract will make some riders do.

I'm questioning how it could be more clear than this.

Vinokourov will not be able to ride the TDF, not the 2009 at least. He didn't server his 2 year ban so they won't let him in and all he will do is put Astana at risk of not getting in.

He did get the team formed but for the sake of everyone on Astana he should stay the F home.
