Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

why don't you pick up tubes that don't require adapters while you are there?

agreed.

They probably forgot to put them back on. I got my laptop back from the service center missing my gigabyte stick of RAM, with a 512 MB stick of RAM instead.

It happens.

To the OP--they're saying throw the adapters away and get a decent bike pump.

Just keep doing what you are doing and don't worry about these clowns. They are not paying your bills.

But not the crappy $20 blackburn pump. That crap broke within 10 days. I know I could send it in for a free replacement, but I don't want another...they're trash.

Get a joe blow pro.

or better yet, stick with those adapters and just use a compressor with the PSI set at 110. No thinking and work required, just plug and before you know it your tube is filled and you didn't break a sweat.

cable stretch etc... ? dont most shops have you come back soon after purchasing a bike..

OP: Shrader valves dont belong on road bike tubes, just get a pump that does presta and you will never have to worry about it again.. i like the specialized pumps that have one head, but it works on both presta/shrader and its ~$20.

110 is too high for most people.
