Lake makes some great shoes. Go for it.

+1 if they fit your foot. I had issues with mine causing pain, and numbness (I know several others that had the exact issue with theirs. And yes, mine are the correct size). After several modifications they seem to be working better, but not perfect. They are excellent as far as performance, and quality.

They are wonderful!! I'm just starting to use my third pair, after putting over 25,000 kms of cycling, and a whole bunch of kms of walking, on each of the first two pair.
I still have the first two pair, and they are still in decent condition, and I use them for spinning class now. But I've got arthritis in my right food and needed a larger size for outdoor cycling.

They MUST fit your foot. They are a little narrow for my liking. To find one that fit, I had to go one size larger than my normal (non-biking) shoe size. Quality seems pretty good.

Maybe that's why I like them so much ... I have very narrow feet.

You're trying to save money by buying "cheap" shoes but if they don't fit, and you don't seem to know if they will or won't given that you don't say you've tried them on, then you'll be out of $40 + shipping. Then what?
I work in retail and I have a lot of customers point to a product that's on sale and ask "is that one good?". Ultimately, it's "good" if it fits and functions well and meets the customer's demands but otherwise it's just a cheap product.

Old Lakes and New Lakes ... note how the old ones are still in great shape despite the fact that they've faded a bit.

Can anybody compare them to shimano as far as sizing? Do they run small or large, or would I just order the same size?

I've put about 3k miles into a pair of Lake CX165's and I love them. I have never worn a different pair of shoes but I still think they're great. Plenty stiff and comfy/breathable. Picked them up for about $100 a year ago.

i got the lake tri shoe and they have a little bit of room because i was told that when your feet swell they get bigger. and during long ride my right big toe starts rubbing but it happens when im on the saddle after 3hours. so there narrow but other then that imo shoes are shoes.
