Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Dude the choice is mainly about $$$$$. I have a CAD 3 old school c-dale and it is a ridgid beast,I also owna full carbon roady and the difference is nioght and day...Smooth like silk stiff just a nice ride. That beinbg said the newer stuff CAD 9 is smoother and lighter than CAAD 3 plus a lot cheaper than Carbon...If ya have $$ go Titanium...fewer guys ride it and it is nice..I just sold my old Ti frame to buy a new Carbon bike........

I think cannondale still has a trade in program so you might be able to trade in your old frame for a new CAAD9 for a good price.

I'd take a $600-800 dollar frame with a warranty over a $300 frame without.

Or I could buy one that works the first time and not waste my time with bonehead Ebayers.

I had a CAAD 3 in the late 90's. Great racing bike, horrible ride, no compliance in the rear triangle. FF to 2006 and I get a 2007 model year Six13 with the alu rear triangle (similar to a CAAD 8/9). Now the rear of the bike feels like compliant steel or ti.

I doubt you can go wrong with a CAAD 9. After three years of ownership, my Six13 still amazes me with what a great racing bicycle it is. So good in fact that it makes me wonder why I ordered a new Cervelo.

But the Bike Schwag is calling my name dude.

Have you checked out those prices as I remember the trade in program being around 4-5 bills, which is about what CAAD9s go for on ebay.

if that's true, then the trade in is much better.
