Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

who makes disc brake road bikes?

o.k., i've been riding (just) a mountain bike for years, and want to buy another road bike.

considering i sold off/gave away my last road bikes over ten years ago, i've got a question:

having fallen in love with disc brakes on my mountain bike, who makes road bikes with disc brakes? i know they exist, but can't seem to find any.

You can really only find disc on cross and touring bikes from the major brands. Giant has a disc touring model, Redline and Cannondale have disc cross bikes, and there are a couple of higher-end custom types who make disc compatible. There are also a couple of flatbar commuter/townie types with discs, Kona is the only one I can remember off the top of my head.

You could look into the Cannondale Bad Boy Ultra. It's an interesting bike.
Disk brake road wheels on a mtb frame. You can also switch out the wheels and put on mtb wheels. I've got one. It's fun, but I'm not crazy about flat bars on a road bike and have ended up using it mostly as a mtb bike. But if you dig flat bars, check it out.

Not really a road bike, but quite nice anyway: BMC Carborazor.
Very nice (IMHO), but very expensive, stainless steel, only made-to-measure: Marschall Alamo. (More here: Marschall -> go to "Rennrad".
