Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Break my Cage. Awesomer than hell.

Behold, the 6g cage from Zefiro. I knew of this long ago, but I was curious about it again (wondering how it would hold up) so I went and did some research. Apparently, it doesn't hold up too well.

6 Grams. Need we say more? Made for the ultimate weight weenie in you. Weighs 10 grams with the bolts. These cages are very thin. If you need stronger cages please check out our other cage available. This component does not have a warranty. Once it breaks, the cage is non-reparable and needs to be replaced at Owners Expense.
I like how they phrased all that. ^

Just put 2oz less H2O in your water bottle. Or get those 500ml bottles instead of the 750ml.
Its much cheaper that way.

I was actually thinking of getting those chinese made ones from ebay. Pair for 9 bucks and 20 bucks shipping.
Aren't they all made in China anyway? And someone else slaps their stickers on them?
(then I'll fill up my 750ml bottles all the way!)

I've looked at those. Haven't bought any, but most of those models appear to be identical to some name-brand cages that sell for big $$$. I'm guessing that they come from the same factories.

Donno. I shall never switch from the PBK ones. I see $45 carbon cages that are 5g-15g heavier all over online and in the LBSs. Why not get the plastic one from PBK for $3? And it's lighter! Even if only 5g lighter.

Oh, it's about looking cool.

Is it the Prorace brand or a PBK brand?
20 grams. Yah, better than forking out for the carbon ones.

That Willier looks just like the carbon frame the guy sells (the guy that sells the carbon cages on ebay).

Could be from the same factory, too. Where do you think all the high-end components and frames are made, anyway? Italy???

Hehe.
My friend is from Taiwan. He's always joking to me that next time he goes back home, he'll bring back whatever bike I want. Just put a different sticker on it.

24 oz of water is 709 grams + another 40 grams or so for your bottle, ya schmucks.

You're presuming that the target market is full of rational people. Or people who actually ride their bikes much.

I thought it was pretty shocking when the engineer at Trek pointed out that one of their frames weighs less than a full water bottle. Sure, every gram adds up, but at what point are we going give up on the pursuit of lighter weight?
