I use the Vittoria 55g tubes sometimes. They're durable enough in front, but on the rear wheel I puncture them pretty frequently, so I've given up on them back there... and this with Ultra Gatorskins.
Lol, come to think of it, it's pretty lame to be using a race tube with gatorskins anyway.

Does the thickness of the innertube make much difference to the puncture proofness then? I'd have thought that if a sharp thing has actually found it's way through your tyre, it will puncture whatever tube you've got in there.

Using ultralight tubes to save a couple grams doesn't make any sense to me. However, they take significantly less space when you pack them, so I often carry them.

I just switched over to the Forte Lunar Light 50g tubes. Picked them up for $4 a piece, not bad.

The problem with latex is they loose air much quicker. If you rountinely add air before every ride, not a big deal. With butyl, a can go several days, if not a week.

I use the Lunar Lights for training, AirComp Latex for when I race with my clinchers.
You're right. If you check your air pressure before every ride, like you should, it's not a problem.
