Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

non-slip arm warmers?

Does anyone know which brand makes arm warmers with a silicone grip so the arm warmers don't slip or slide down my arms as i ride? i know PI makes leg warmers with the silicone grip but do they make them that way for the arm warmers too? i have an older pair of arm warmers from PI that don't have the silicone grips but i was hoping maybe they've improved upon them.
thanks for any help in advance!

I wonder... could you just buy a tube of silicone and put some on?

My Descente armwarmers have silicon grips on them. Never had any issues with them slipping...

Same with my Sugoi armwarmers (https://www.sugoi.com). They stay up and have lasted for ages. Great gear.

Most of them have the silicon grip these days. Problem is that after a while the gripping part stretchs and they just start falling down anyway.

I have really skinny arms, and the best arm warmers I've found are DeFeet Armskins. They just do not fall down. The are comfy too, because they don't have the silicon grippers. Cannot recommend them enough.

i just visited the PI site and they have silicone grippers now BUT it's on the outside of the cuff....i don't know how effect that is esp. if the jersey cuff isn't all that tight to begin with. I too have skinny arms.

I have the Specialized ones and they're great. Of course, my ridiculously well formed biceps probably help to anchor the arm warmers so they don't slip.

I have Assos leg and arm warmers. Neither one move at all. I have been using them since last winter and now this one again.

Specialized makes some awesome arm and leg warmers that have grips at both ends. Mine have never moved at all. Just be sure to get the correct size...

Arm warmers are not all made with lycra. Not all arm warmers need rubbery silicone to keep them in place, either.

Check out these SockGuy arm warmers.

Unlike their lycra cousins, don't slip. Ever. They're made of micro denier acrylic and spandex or wool and spandex. They stretch and sit in place. You'll forget you've got them on because they're so comfortable. Awesome.

Performance bonus:

Unlike their lycra cousins, they breathe and wick sweat away from your skin. Ever make it to the top of a climb only to realize you have moist clammy arms for your descent? This doesn't happen with these SockGuys.

Try them out.

+1 on the Defeet, they are soooo comfy! And they stay pretty comfortable and very warm in the rain. The only thing is that the upper part tends to roll a little (I have short arms so mediums were okay in length but I have my big rugby player arms - at least for a woman), but they will never slip!

Do not have a LBS so I cut the toes out of a pair of tube socks I bought several year ago. Pulled them on toe up and top on my wrists and they never moved durning a metric century last Saturday. Cost was zero dollars.
