Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Which is better? 2007 Giant T-Mobile / 2008 Giant

Could anyone tell me the major differences between these 2 bikes below. Of course cost aside.

2007 Giant TCR ADVANCED TEAM T-MOBIL:
https://cgi.ebay.com/2007-TCR-ADVANCE...1%7C240%3A1318

2008 Giant TCR Advanced 1:
https://classifieds.roadbikereview.co...?product=12333

I'm trying to understand the differences as I buy my first "performance" bike and am having some trouble figuring out what to buy. Thanks much!

These frames both have an Integrated Seatpost (ISP), which would have to be cut down if too tall. Make sure you get your measurements down before you click anything else.

The T-Mobil one will probably be harder to sell down the road... (You'd think someone selling a team bike would know how to spell T-Mobile)

Decided to go with the TCR Advanced Team. Pictures are from last night, but I just had it fit and the seat post cut this afternoon. Can't wait to put some miles under this baby ASAP!

I really don't know how good of a deal I got as I am not as knowledgeable about bike prices as you guys. However, I did manage to get the owner to throw in a pair of extra small FUSHSIA bike shorts to wear on my 200+lb frame. So I'm pretty

That was last night when I brought it home brand new. I had it fitted and the seat post cut today about 2 inches. Much better now.

Those bikes are very light. When I was buying my bike the shop had just received a few frames and were taking them out of the box and he handed one to me. It made my CF Kuota feel like lead, even though mine only weighed 200g more and is hardly a heavyweight. The difference was I never felt mine completely stripped like the TCR advanced was.

If he's rocking he's sure to get saddle sores. Lower the saddle height.

Guys, I wrote that the picture was when it was brand new. I have SINCE cut the seat post about 2 inches. I guess I'll need some pictures to prove??

At the buy it now price of $3499, I'd say you got a pretty good deal for an NOS bike.

The bike retailed for $6,000 in 2007. I got mine new then for $5,000.

tHe 2009 SL is a little bit stiffer, and a few grams lighter, which drives down the price of the 2007's and 2008's (but not as good looking IMHO).

The Team Advanced is still a great bike and getting a new one for a few thousand below what the 2009 would cost is a great way to go.

I was able to beat the buy it now price by a few hundred even, so I think I did well on it. I also think it may be a 2008, not a 2007 as I saw soem specs on a 2008 online and it was as far as I could tell exactly what mine is. Anyone know of the difference between the 2007 and 2008 to know for sure? Oh, and here's the picture after the seat post was cut down, and the stem inverted.

I believe it has to be a 2007. There was no T-Mobile in 2008, thus I don't think Giant made a TCR Team Advanced in the T-Mobile colors in 2008.

The Deda Newton stem, also makes me think its 2007.

Are the wheels tubeless? The 2008 TCR Advanced was spec'd with Dura Ace tubeless compatible wheels, and Shimano pro handlebars and stem. https://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-US/...ad/1202/29235/

Remember, 2008 in the bike and car world can begin as early as July 2007. There was a run of T-Mobile team bikes in 2008, I don't think T-Mobile's withdrawl was official until January 2008.

That frame is hot...I want an ISP frame...a Giant even. Got to talk to my LBS about this situation but the Neo Exile is on the way.
