Crash and win!
I would just like to say how proud I am of a young cyclist that I ride with.
After registration at the finish line on top of a short hill climb race we cruise down the hill to the start.
Half way down an impatient motorist (got his number and reported him to the cops) coming up, can't wait for 4 or 5 cyclists to pass before he overtakes the car in front. He squeezes them off the road and one goes down. Knicks, jersey and some skin in tatters (thankfully nothing more serious) he makes his was to the start.
During the wait for the start the adrenalin has worn off and I see he's starting to feel the pain.
To cut a long story short he wins by over a minute.
You go boy!

Nice to hear about the win. Report back when they catch the driver.

I have a few friends in the police. I deal with then now and again when we're racing. They sometime give our riders an escort (flashing lights and all). They'll let me know... plenty of witnesses.

nice good for him.
Some of the guys I ride with have had some incidents with drivers. In one instance one guy ripped the reg plate of the guys truck, folded it in half and tucked it in his jersey pocket.....rode to the local cop shop and handed it over.........
Another time the driver buzzed them and pulled over an heated argument insued, the guy reeked of alcohol while the argument was ongoing one rider walked up to the truck, took the keys out and they all rode away and left the guy stranded!....he was a danger on the road anyhow

Congratulate the lad on behalf of... I was going to say BFs, but that's overstepping it a bit, so... on behalf of me and Machka. Courage indeed.
