Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

+1. And even though you claim you're fast, there's a whole 'nother fast in racing. Not to mention handling skills are more important than speed.

I wouldn't call 33kmh average or 50 kmh sprint fast. I'd call that the first honest person on BF.

Everyone starts off as a 5. Unless you're a woman. Or racing cyclocross.

That's better.

SAJAD, everyone starts out as a Cat 5. After you learn more about surviving in the pack and not getting yourself or others hurt, you move up to 4. There aren't any points required to move from 5 to 4, just mass start race entries.

A lot of folks stay in the 5's for a lot longer than required because they are content there. Nothing wrong with that as long as it fits your goals and desires and you aren't on the podium every time you race.

Don't worry so much about what your speed is so much as endurance and skill.
