It wouldn't count ... this one is for the Century-A-Month, and for that you've got to do those rides in a non-stationary manner, on a road, trail, MUP, track, etc.
If I could ride my bicycle round and round the walking track at the local recreational centre, that would count ... but the people at the rec centre wouldn't like that at all!!
If it were an extra century, not for the CAM, I might consider doing it on my trainer. Every winter, I think I might do a century on my trainer, but so far there have been enough good days for cycling outside I haven't had to do that.

It's clear and 6C here. Are you still in Edmonton? I wouldn't have excepted that much difference in the weather.

And the weather on one side of Calgary can be vastly different from the weather on the other side of Calgary, nevermind any cities or towns elsewhere in the province. Calgary is interesting that way ... it kind of does its own thing when it comes to weather.

Red Deer is the centre of all crappy weather in the province. Driving on Highway 2? Hmmm... Hit a snow storm/thunderstorm/hail/wind - must be Red Deer!

December has been pretty good too. It got a little chilly a couple nights ago, but where I am right now it's +3C (and raining).

Freezing rain is just about the worst form of precipitation. My hometown in Washington state frequently had this.
I wouldn't even leave the house. Ice coating everything makes even getting to the car a chore. Not to forget even trying to open a frozen shut door.
I suppose if you could find a safe location away from the cars, studded tires, and studs on the bottom of your shoes....
Sounds like a miserable ride of any distance.
Trainer or couch time!

But are you sure you can't package some of that nice weather up and send it to me for Christmas?

Today they've issued a freezing rain warning combined with winds from 70-90 km/h. Yay!!
As DataJunkie says, freezing rain is just about the worst form of precipitation. It's dangerous and you can't do anything with it. At least if it were just fluffy snow, I could think about skiing, and snow can usually be shoved aside and the roads can be left in decent condition to ride.

It's because of the mountains. The mountains funnel the weather systems and the wind in certain directions. Just now, the bad stuff is being funnelled into Central Alberta. Other times it gets funnelled into other parts of Alberta. You just never know what you're going to get ... never count on the weather!
