Lance is a Fred
How many spacers is he using? Maybe he sould have gone for that "preformance fit" Madone.

Maybe there's a reason y'all aren't racing in the big leagues? He's always had a load of spacers. He used a quill stem for the longest time because he didn't WANT to have to use the spacers.
If you read his Twitter acount, you'll see that the mountains that they wer riding were so big that even Levi ws using a 28 in the back. Lance said he wishd he had a 30! ha
We'd all be in the littlest ring we could find.

I realize it's been talked to death here on BF......but, I feel bad for Alberto........he's earned his spot in the limelight, he's without a doubt the best Grand Tour rider right now, and yet Armstrong has waltzed back in to steal his thunder, (and I say this as an Armstrong fan).......I'm very curious as to how this plays out during the Grand Tours next year.....I think Armstrong must be hoping he can offset whatever losses he has to Alberto in the mountains with gains in the time trials.....No ?
Part of me wants to see Armstrong win, part of me wants to see Contador destroy him in the mountains....maybe we'll get both ?

In this pic he is using SRAM Red with an SRM. Is D/A toast? This clearly makes him a Fred.

There's nothing fred about a few spacers. people need to get over it, they exist for a reason (as do brake hoods, 3x cross wheels, and a lot of other supposedly "fred" stuff)
... as for Lance vs. Contador, i don't think there is any way Lance is going to race for second. At this point i think he has a pretty good idea about how he might do, and all this talk of playing a support role is just so typical Lance. i'm not the hugest fan by any stretch, but if he lines up my moneys on him to take his 8th yellow jersey, his ego/drive/competetiveness runs too deep.
Gotta wonder though how Shimano feels seeing him on Sram stuff...not too swell i'd imagine

I think the guy knows what he's doing with his bike fit. Looks pretty much the same as here:

i heard lance adopted a more upright position on his time trial bike as well...
whatever. a lot of the time, comfort = speed.
