Rival Front Der
I posted over in mech's as well but I know there's a few more people looking here.
I'm trying to set up my FD but can't get enough pull from the shifter. It won't move enough to touch the chain with the inner plate when trying to move to the big ring. I can't set the limit screw because there's no more to let out. I'm really confused about this. Any ideas?
Thanks.

visit sram.com, go to the service area of the site and view the videos on setting up their products. hope that helps, you didn't give much information to go on. btw, your set/stop screws should never be maxxed out.

Been there.. actually downloaded em and memorized em since i was getting a new group for christmas. The screw isn't maxed out. It's not even engaged. for some reason when I tighten down it moves the wrong way? I know.. I'm going by the manuals and it's just not working. Haven't had a single problem till now. What info exactly are you looking for. I can fill in the details..

If you tighten the high screw it will move the derailleur in, not what you want to do right now. It's not engaged because you don't have enough cable tension. Turn your barrel adjusters (or pull some more cable through the final bolt) and get it tighter.
In the small ring the cable should just barely be slack (if at all), if it's too slack when it tries to shift it will just take up this slack and not actually move the derailleur.

Well I've figured it out. I think it came down to cable tension. Thanks for the info and the help guys. i'm so glad that's over.

Glad you fixed it. When I first got my Rival, I THOUGHT I had a problem with the fd, but I was wrong. I thought it wouldn't stay shifted to the big ring. Turns out, I just wasn't pushing the lever far enough or hard enough to reach the "click". Transitioning from Shimano to Rival is an adjustment.
