What do you think the next new wonder-material will be for making bikes.

Nano fibers from carrots.
Look up "Carrot Stix" as in fishing rods. I have several that I use in bass fishing. The orange color is intentional as a marketing ploy and not the natural color of the fibers.

I think it's going to be used for clothing, shoes, etc. It has great insulating and shock-protection properties but is almost as light as air (yet is solid to the touch). It was actually invented in 1931 but it's only recently that they've gotten close to making it very affordable. (It also sucks up moisture well, so it'd be a REAL "sweat-wicking" material)

I saw somebody making bikes out of flax that seemed pretty cool.
I'm sure some pothead somewhere is working on a hemp bike, but it's taking a long time because he keeps stopping for snacks.

I've been working on how to make crushed souls into a structural material. They're less dense than air.
